Added this book to Silicon roller coaster club as it explains pretty well where private equity firms get money from for investments. Their sources of money (pension funds, municipalities, etc - called "boomer's money" in another book) are tapped by venture capital firms as well for Silicon Valley type of investments.

I guess all you need to know about hedge funds, from the book: they take money from pension funds, invest them somewhere and thrive on return from investments or lose invested money. Simple as that
